Making the laser tag experience fresh and fun is what keeps customers coming back to The Fun Warehouse in Camillus, NY after more than a decade in business as an entertainment destination in central New York. When owner Tim Cannizzo created his company in 2007 he wanted to offer an activity that would be enjoyable for players of all ages. He knew firsthand from playing laser tag when he was younger that it can be great fun for kids and teens as well as adults.

Cannizzo also had a good idea of what features he wanted when looking for the right laser tag system to meet his needs. He decided that Laserforce was the best fit for his business after another laser tag representative referred him to Laserforce because their system could not do all that Cannizzo wanted it to. Since day one of opening, The Fun Warehouse has been using Laserforce and seeing positive results in the form of returning customers.

“The full functionality of the membership system was key for me as to how I was going to run my business,” says Cannizzo. The Fun Warehouse sees repeat clientele with members returning to play over and over again and the membership system allows them to customize their own code name, track their personal scores and earn achievements. Customers also enjoy the wide variety of game formats that can be played and even simply changing the pack colors keeps things interesting. Occasionally the staff at The Fun Warehouse will change the pack colors to match the school colors of the local university, which is a small way they can demonstrate support for the community.

Laser tag is the primary attraction for this business. A 40-piece arcade provides entertainment for customers between games, however the spotlight is always on the laser tag experience and creative ways to make that appealing. One of the largest events The Fun Warehouse hosts annually is their New Year’s Eve party that provides a fun kick off to the new year that kids and teens can get excited about attending. Typically, they have anywhere from 75-120 players (120 is their maximum number of tickets) participating with laser tag, refreshments, music and contests throughout the night. Cannizzo encourages other laser tag operators to think outside the box and consider ideas similar to those that have been successful for his business, such as overnight events and special wristband nights where customers can play all the laser tag they want for one price during designated hours.

The Fun Warehouse has seen longevity as a thriving laser tag facility using Laserforce equipment and creative ingenuity to keep customers engaged and returning. The secret to success for this business continues to be providing an enjoyable experience for all ages and keeping things fresh and fun every step of the way.
