LASER TAG WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!

In the past few years, it feels like technology has rapidly changed the way we do just about everything. With technologies like the Metaverse, Blockchain, and now the wave of AI applications, it is only fitting that laser tag takes its biggest leap forward in over half a decade. Not since the release of the Laserforce Gen8 Battlesuit has the laser tag industry witnessed such progress.

Thrills Laser Tag, a daring entrepreneur of laser tag entertainment, announced the launch of its new Laserforce laser tag experience. The new experience features state-of-the-art Laserforce Gen8 Infinity equipment and software that delivers an immersive and exciting laser tag experience for players of all ages. Todd Whitney and his team at Thrills opened in 2017 and have enjoyed providing fun for the whole family with laser tag and arcades to tourists and locals alike in Miramar Beach, Florida. But talk to Todd for a few minutes and you can see that just being good isn’t good enough.

“Since we first opened the original arena in 2017, we’ve seen incredible leaps in laser-tag technology and arena theming,”

said Todd Whitney, owner of Thrills Laser Tag and Arcade.

“And we always want to provide the best possible product for our customers and community.”

And that is exactly what Todd, and his team have done. Not being satisfied with just a good product, he opted to go all out; he wanted to create the world’s most entertaining and innovative laser tag experience. The vision for the new attraction was daring, and to pull it off, he would need to partner with industry leaders. With the creative vision ready to become reality, Thrills partnered with Laserforce, Creative Works, and Justin Geller to transform his current laser tag attraction into something the world has never seen before, the first ever laser tag experience built around Laserforce’s Redemption feature.

Redemption, in the entertainment industry, is the concept of playing arcades or carnival games to win tickets, which have largely become digitalized on RFID cards in recent times. The idea is familiar to most; we have all been there, saving up tickets to trade them in for that big plush toy, or at least some candy! Redemption is a main stay in family entertainment centers because customers love being able to win prizes, and operators enjoy the additional replay value it provides to many of their games. That is why the developers at Laserforce knew they needed to find a way to bring redemption prizes to laser tag.

Laserforce’s redemption technology doesn’t just enable players to earn tickets by playing laser tag, it streamlined and gamified the process to make it easy for operators and to make it entertaining for players. The Laserforce Redemption feature was released just last November as part of the annual SUP release. It was the perfect timing for Todd and his team at Thrills to harness it for their upcoming project.

The team at Thrills wanted to add story telling elements often found in escape rooms and other immersive experiences into their laser tag attraction. Players will now embark on an adventure that is unlike any other. With a few clues and a story driven narrative laid out before you enter the arena, players will set off to capture as many redemption points as possible while seeking out lost treasures in the temple of doom inspired arena. Thanks to the amazing theming work by Creative Works and Laserforce’s Living Arena technology, players will adventure through an incredible arena, battling other players as well as the environment. But the experience begins long before players enter the arena. Todd and his team wanted customers to feel like they are immersed the second they walk into the lobby. Justin Geller was tasked with creating an immersive projection at the entrance of the laser tag arena. Using projection mapping, sound, and lighting, players are practically transported to the realm of the Temple of Doom!

With dangers and surprises around every corner, the new arena will surely make Thrills Laser tag and Arcade one of the must play laser tag sites in the world. Todd and his team want to make sure that their community is the first to enjoy the new attraction.

“We fully believe that if you invest in the community, the community will invest in you,”

said Whitney.

“So we really wanted this launch and this new arena to benefit the community, too, and we love what The Boys and Girls Clubs do for the families in our area.”

Thrills Laser Tag and Arcade is set to unveil its newly renovated laser tag arena to the community with a launch party on May 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. They have partnered with The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, pledging a donation of 10 percent of all laser tag sales on the day of the launch party.
